The 2026 skincare trends to know about
Injectables are on their way out (if they aren’t already)
Earlier this year, we spoke about injectables falling out of favour and non-invasive treatments, like hydra-dermabrasion, microcurrent technology and cryofreeze, growing in appeal. And there’s stats to back this up.
According to a report, 81% of consumers are more accepting of non-invasive aesthetic treatments than they were five years ago.
“Of course, people have injectables for lots of reasons,” Rosa says. “Whether it’s to manage excessive sweating, treat chronic migraines or to smooth wrinkles on the face. But I’ve noticed a growing trend of people veering away from Botox and filler for aesthetic reasons and moving more towards non-invasive treatments,” Rosa adds. “In my opinion, it’s refreshing to see. People are looking for long term fixes rather than short term ones and I strongly believe that this is a growing trend that’s going to continue well into 2026 and beyond.”
Active ingredients are breaking new ground
If you thought skincare products had reached peak innovation, think again. In 2026, active ingredients (i.e. clinically proven compounds in products that address specific skin concerns, such as fine lines, acne, or hyperpigmentation), are poised to take over your bathroom shelf. And we’re all for it.
Heard of Reoxderm®? Matistem CC™? And ground-breaking bioactive ASPA-Fernblock® Technology?
“Both in-clinic and at-home skincare ingredients are much more refined now,” Rosa says. “Serums are more concentrated, creams are rich in cutting-edge actives and certain SPFs don’t just protect you against UV rays, they’ll help with collagen production, wound healing and strengthening the skin barrier, too.”
“It’s great to see,” Rosa says. “Because this makes both in-clinic treatments and at-home products more efficient, so you get better results in less time.”
Mesotherapy electroporation is set to be big news
As we’ve highlighted, there’s a growing desire to cash in on skincare fixes without the need for needles. Which is why, in 2026, mesotherapy electroporation is set to storm the skincare stage.
The non-invasive state-of-the-art skin rejuvenating technique uses pain-free electrical pulses to temporarily disrupt the skin’s barrier, encouraging active ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin layers
By doing so, the pain-free treatment enhances the absorption of nutrients, increases blood flow and stimulates collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. So, you can enjoy improved muscle tone, hydration, skin texture and overall appearance— with no downtime required.
“Mesotherapy electroporation is believed to be the most powerful method of ‘transdermal administration’ (delivery through the skin),” Rosa says. “So much so, it’s considered to be the only technology capable of offering an instant filling effect, comparable to injections with needles—as this results-driven infusion therapy will transfer up to 70% of substances into your skin, as opposed to 10% achieved by other more traditional methods,” the expert adds.
So, if 2023 (and beyond) was the year of microneedling, 2026 is the year of its needle-free counterpart, mesotherapy electroporation.
