In the beauty world, Cryotherapy is the use of cold and freezing techniques to remove benign and superficial skin lesions quickly, effectively, safely and painlessly. It can be used on skin tags, milia, cherry angiomas, age spots, warts, seborrheic keratosis, and skin pigmentation. It works by causing the water in the skin cells to freeze. As the skin cells freeze, they expand and destroy the nucleus of the lesion, allowing new skin to come through to the surface. Treatment is usually painless (or with slight discomfort). Skin should return to normal within 4-6 weeks. A second treatment may be required with a large lesion. We use a high-tech Cryo Freeze pen which works by releasing a cryogenic liquid that cools to temperatures as low as -89°C. As the skin warms up and heals, the damaged lesion and dead cells are naturally sloughed off. Cryotherapy is a relatively low-risk treatment and side effects and complications are usually minimal. However, it is important that you are informed about your skin condition and any proposed treatment, including the potential benefits and risks involved. £75 for first lesion and £25 per lesion thereafter.
